Taylor Lynn grew up a homeschooled midwesterner, and has since become a renowned actor/singer/dancer with a love for telling stories and singing her heart out.

Taylor Lynn is a Non-Equity actress from Davenport, Iowa. A graduate from The University of South Dakota (BFA Musical Theatre Performance and Dance Minor) and The Open Jar Institute Intensive Program (2021), she has performed in professional productions across the region, totaling over fifty productions in her lifetime thus far.

Taylor has training in various dance genres and choreography, stage combat, film acting, various acting techniques, dialects, Commedia dell'Arte and various other period techniques, vocal performance, and much more.

As a continuation of her final thesis project in college, Taylor is writing an Academic Journal over the need for accurate representation of Mental Health in musical theatre, and fights passionately for Mental Health rights.

FUN FACT!

Taylor's regional debut as Cyndi Lauper in We Will Rock You was the same show where she went on in her understudy track, the lead role of Scaramouche, as well as her ensemble swing track throughout the run!

Post-Graduation!

Taylor has been very successful since returning to the Quad Cities, IA upon graduating. She was cast in 6 regional productions in 2022, some running simultaneously, which included originating a role, a new work, a regional premiere, and the 8th production ever of a 2008 musical. Taylor has had the honor to originate roles and works since college, where her first originated role was in "These Women of Troy", a newly translated Greek Tragedy. She began working at Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse in June, 2022, and has become involved in numerous other theatres throughout the area. Taylor was recognized as one of five River City Readers 'Tony' recipients for her performance as She in Their Town.

University of South Dakota

Taylor is a 2022 graduate from The University of South Dakota's Musical Theatre Program! She has had opportunities to study many different theatre styles, such as Commedia dell'Arte, Greek Period, Shakespeare, and various Japanese Theatre styles. Taylor also wrote her senior thesis over Accurate Representation of Mental Illnesses in Musical Theatre, which is a passion of hers. She trained at USD in Movement and Stage Combat, studied film acting, as well as acting techniques, such as Uta Hagen, Chekhov, Stanislavsky, Linklater, and others, and has studied the Laban Efforts and Rasa Boxes.
